1) Take advantage of the “HomeSafe Georgia” mortgage payment assistance program. In case the homeowner cannot pay monthly mortgage payment due to unemployment or income reduction (25%, or 30% if self-employed) during the past 3 years (36 months), the State of Georgia pays the mortgage payment up to 24 months. If the homeowner resides in the same property for more than 5 years after the assistance, all the HomeSafe Georgia payment assistance will be forgiven.
2) Legal protection is available for renters. It is against the law that rental/leasing office is treating its tenants by differing terms and conditions. Delaying or neglecting a repair or maintenance request is also illegal. Come and learn how the “Fair Housing Law” protects the rights of tenants and renters.
3) FHA Loan is a mortgage insured by the Federal Housing Administration, a government agency within the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Because of that insurance, lenders offer FHA loans at attractive interest rates and with less stringent and more flexible qualification requirements. The FHA loan requires a down payment of just 3.5% of the purchase price of the home and accepts applicants who have nontraditional credit history or insufficient credit.
4) Come and learn how to apply for the Down Payment Assistance up to $8,000 for first-time homebuyers in DeKalb County.
