Atlanta Asian Film Festival celebrates 10th year with food culinary theme

The organizing committee of the 10th Atlanta Asian Film Festival has officially announced its film lineup for this year’s festival. This year marked the tenth anniversary of the festival and it has become the largest Asian film festival of its kind in the southeast region.

This year’s festival will kickoff with a Premiere opening reception along with an opening screening of Hong Kong’s acclaimed director Stephen Chow’s latest flick “Journey to the West: Conquering the demons.”

The opening night screening on October 10, 2014 is part of a special Hong Kong Film Showcase which is presented as part of the festival. There are four films selected as part of the showcase and the showcase is presented by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York.

In addition to the Hong Kong Film Showcase, this year’s festival theme is centered around the food and culinary culture. Award winning films from “The Lunch Box” of India, “Zone Pro Site: The Moveable Feast” of Taiwan, and “God of Ramen” of Japan are based on the food culinary theme.

Movie goers and film enthusiast are encourage to buy an All Access Pass valued at $25.00. The pass will allow entry to all screening during the festival.

Individual tickets are also available for sale at $8.00 per adult.

Atlanta Asian Film Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the Atlanta community about the rich diversity of Asian Pacific culture through films and movies.

AAFF’s goal is to create an annual consciousness-raising celebration of Asian American cultures through educational and informative films in an entertaining context.
