Dear Friends,

We're pleased to announce that the Confucius Institute, in partnership with the GSU School of Music, is hosting a Chinese New Year concert in Kopleff Recital Hall this Sunday. The concert program consists of music by contemporary Chinese musicians as well as traditional music familiar to most of us. In addition, among the 50+plus artists performing in this concert is our very own renowned soprano Dr. Jenny Yang, an accomplished professor of chemistry.

Here's the information about the show:

Time and Date: 8:00 pm, Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014
Venue: Kopleff Recital Hall (in between Sparks Hall and the Humanities Building, entrance facing the Hurt Park)
Parking: free parking available in G-Deck

舞台摄影不应该用闪光灯。如果用闪光灯，会对表演舞蹈，杂技，戏曲的演员构成一定的危险，同时也会影响演出气氛。希望今后大家在拍摄舞台演出时，能自觉遵守有关规定。

Frustrated with the organization of this event. First, parking. Here it says parking at G deck is free. However, when we got there, the G deck was closed. No one was manning the gates. We tried all the entries on G deck and every one was closed. Could not get in. Had to find another paying parking garage. Then the information here says it starts at 8PM, but it was GSU musicians performed about an hour before the the programs listed here even started. So the program listed here started after 9PM. Wish the organizer informed the public about GSU's performance. Last, there were some kids apparently working for the Confucius Institute with cameras walking around the recital hall and taking photos with FLASH while there is a big sign at the entrance says no flash photography allowed. It irritated the audience most since they were sitting in the dark. It could be a wonderful event if the organizer could be more considerate of these things.<br>
