A few of the whitewater rafting info are outlined in here (please
refer to the website:
www.cherokeerafting.com for more details):
1. $32 per person, the group rate is available and depends on the
number of
participants. Important: Children must be 12 years or older.
2. The Middle
Ocoee River trip takes approx. 1.5 to 2 hours to run
with over 20
continuous class III & IV rapids.
3. No experience is necessary! There is a professional guide in each
raft. The
most important skill you can have is the ability to listen to your
guide and
follow your guide's instructions.
4. Wear secure shoes for rafting (old sneakers, river sandals (no flip
flops), etc.)
and bring swim suits, tee shirt and shorts, or other comfortable
clothes to
get wet in. Bring dry shoes and clothing for the trip home. A plastic
bag is a
good idea for wet clothes.
5. A
waiver form must be completed for each person participating in
our
whitewater rafting activities. It can be downloaded from the website
and
filled out prior the trip.
6. Cancellation Policy for the group: Cherokee Rafting CANNOT offer
refunds
for cancellations or reductions in group size made less than 10 days
prior to
the scheduled trip, regardless of the circumstances. No exceptions for
illness,
personal emergencies, or bad weather. Remember, rafting goes on rain
or
shine.
7. Direction: FROM ATLANTA, GA (112 miles, 2 - 2 1/2 hours) - Take I-75
north to exit #293. Turn right at the end of the ramp and take Highway
411 north for 65 miles to the junction of
Highway 64. Make a left turn
onto the entrance ramp for Highway 64 east. At the end of the ramp
turn left onto 64 and travel 1.5 miles. Cherokee Rafting is on the
left.
