Cops: Would-be robber killed, 3 injured in shootout


A man is dead and the three people he allegedly was attempting to rob are injured after a shootout in southeast Atlanta early Sunday, police said.The would-be robber, who had a gun, approached a car containing a male and two females at the Forest Grove apartments around 3 a.m., police said. The man inside the car also had a gun and an unknown number of shots were exchanged,
 authorities said.Everyone involved was shot, police said.
The alleged robber was shot in the chest and died at Grady Memorial Hospital,Atlanta Police Maj. Keith Meadows told the AJC.
The two women were shot in the back, and the man in the car was shot in the leg, Meadows said.  All three are in stable condition at Atlanta Medical Center, he said.

Police are investigating the possibility that the incident wasdrug-related, Meadows said.
