NAAAP(the National Association of
Asian American Professionals) Atlanta’s Inaugural Banquet Set for Dec. 4th
Atlanta, Georgia (November 24, 2009) - The Atlanta chapter of the National Association of
Asian American Professionals (NAAAP Atlanta) will hold its Inaugural Banquet on Friday,
December 4th at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel, Atlanta.
The featured speaker is Wal-Mart’s Senior Vice President of Finance & Strategy, Michael Fung.
Other featured VIP’s include Tariq Khan, President of Global Diversity Marketing, Sachi Koto,
well known CNN news anchor who founded her own public relations company, and the U.S.
Navy’s highest ranking Asian in Georgia, Captain John Titus, Commanding Officer of the U.S.
Navy Supply Corps School.
The purpose of the banquet is to celebrate the many local NAAAP leaders who have made an
impact in the Atlanta area in the past year. Additionally, winners of the Chopstix for Charity
grants will be announced and up to $50,000 in grants will be awarded. The banquet will also
promote America’s largest scholarship program for Asians, the APIASF (Asian & Pacific
Islander American Scholarship Fund). This program has just begun accepting scholarship
applications for the 2010 academic year.
The banquet on Dec. 4th begins with a networking reception at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $40 for
NAAAP Atlanta members, $50 for non-members, available at www.naaapatlanta.org.
