Hello friends of Atlanta and China,
It is a great honor to be a citizen of Atlanta. Since the 1996 Olympics Atlanta has improved greatly as an international city. The various cultures within our city also reflects our international goals. It is within this spirit that I take a taste of Atlanta to China.
I am delighted that the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta (YEA) and the Hangzhou Performance Company have both agreed to make this important cultural not-for-profit event happen. The YEA will be visiting the very progressive and wealthy province of Zhejiang. Putting Atlanta in the news in this province will spotlight Atlanta as a China friendly city in the USA. Any individual or company associated with this event will also be regarded as China friendly and the potential for customer base explosion is enormous.
To accomplish this cultural event we need funds. We are taking 43 of Atlanta’s brightest young performing artists to a mystical foreign land for the first time. We are offering a very inexpensive opportunity for recognized sponsors. It takes $2000 to become a recognized sponsor of one of the 43 performers.
The YEA is also taking matters into their own hands and is having a gala fundraising event “A Taste of YEA”, Saturday August 15 at 7:pm at the Rialto Theatre, general admission is only $25. VIP seating is $100.
Senior Councilman Jim Maddox will be in attendance.
