Atlanta City Council candidate establishes HQ

Businessman and civic leader Alex Wan, who is seeking the Atlanta City Council District 6 seat, opens campaign headquarters.

Atlanta, July 29, 2009 – Alex Wan, a businessman and civic leader who is seeking the Atlanta City Council District 6 seat, has opened his campaign headquarters in the district near the intersection of Piedmont and Cheshire Bridge roads. 

“Having a physical home for Alex’s campaign is another important milestone and further puts us in good stead for the race,” says Campaign Coordinator Eric Gray.  “We’ve already filled the space with visibility materials and volunteers, and the excitement is palpable.”

The District 6 seat is currently held by Anne Fauver, a two-term council member who in late April announced her decision not to seek re-election.  Wan entered the race in May; he was raised in Atlanta and has been a homeowner in the city’s Morningside neighborhood for 15 years.

City Council District 6 encompasses much of intown Atlanta, including the Morningside/Lenox Park, Virginia-Highland, Midtown, Ansley Park, Piedmont Heights, Druid Hills, Candler Park and Lindridge-Martin Manor neighborhoods.
