Business Analyst

The Department of Veterans’ Administration (VA) Health Data Systems (HDS) supports the mission of Veterans Health IT by providing complete, accessible, longitudinal, veteran-centric data to the end-user applications of the enterprise. Health Data Systems Registries are used for the systematic collection, analysis, and interpretation of health data about diseases or conditions that may have a significant impact on veterans. The registries contract supports HDS mission of providing veteran-centric data and applications to the user community.

The Registries program will help thousands of war heroes who served their country in pride in the recent wars, lead better lives. It will help clinicians and other healthcare workers track health related problems of veterans associated with traumatic brain injuries, embedded fragments, eye/vision trauma and tissue implants. In addition, this program also supports existing registries like Oncology Tumor Registry and Clinical Case Registries. Also included in the contract, is the deployment effort of Healthcare Associated Infection and Influenza Surveillance System (HAIISS). The HAIISS project was kicked off to bring the VA in compliance with a White House directive issued in Nov 2005 titled “National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza”. HAIISS monitors data in VA’s integrated IT systems to monitor for potential disease, bioterrorism, or healthcare associated infection outbreaks.

The individual in this role will perform business requirements analysis, workflow analysis and will write functional specifications. He/she will act as the liaison between the customer and technical team and will provide support throughout the project development lifecycle. In addition, the Business Analyst will perform in a highly visible client role by running client meetings/presentations,, and/or by assisting in project implementation and end user training.

Veterans Affairs SDLC legacy process

Atleast two years VA experience

VistA, CPRS experience

Tissue Implant/Surgical Procedures, Dental, Prosthetics experience is highly desired.

Bachelors Degree and 5+ year’s industry experience
