To celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between People’s Republic of China and the United States,  the "30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States" exhibition will be held on Feb 2, 2009 at Georgia Tech, Atlanta. This exhibition is funded by the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China in Houston, and co-organized by Atlanta Chinese Students and Scholars Association (ACSSA), Chinese Students and Scholars Associations of Emory University, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Georgia State University, and the Atlanta Chinese Life Sciences Association (ACLSA).

The smooth development of relations between People’s Republic of China, the world's largest developing country, and the United States, the world's largest developed country, plays a decisive role in the global development. In the past 30 years, great progress in Sino-US bilateral communication and cooperation has been taking place in economy and trade, science and technology, culture, education, military and many other fields, which has also brought substantial benefits to the people of both countries. This photo exhibition provides a comprehensive review of the Sino-US diplomatic communication and cooperation in various aspects with more than 70 pictures in chronological order. These historical photographs dating back to 1970 review the major historical events in the normalization course of Sino-US relations, and display all aspects of the two countries’ communication and cooperation, including “the early establishment of diplomatic relations”, “Bilateral visits by leaders”, “the signing of bilateral agreements in regional economic trade co-operation and joint venture development”; “medical exchange”; “visiting art performance”; and “Chinese Kongfu Festival”. Image content can be described as all-inclusive.

为庆祝中美建交30周年，由我国驻休斯顿总领馆资助，亚特兰大中国学生学者总联谊会主办 (ACSSA)，艾默里、佐治亚、佐治亚理工、佐治亚州立四个大学中国学生学者联合会及亚特兰大中华生命科学协会 (ACLSA) 承办的“中美建交30周年”图片展将于2月1号在我校展出.

中国和美国作为世界上最大的发展中国家和发达国家，两国关系的平稳发展对于国际形势起着举足轻重的作用。30年来中美双方在经济贸易、科技、文化、教育、军事等各个领域的交流和合作不断取得进展，并且也给两国人民带来了实实在在的利益。本次图片展览70余幅图片按照时间顺序对中美外交以及各方面交流合作给与了全面的回顾。首先是用很多珍贵的历史图片回望了20世纪70世纪开始的中美两国关系正常化重大历史事件以及建交初期双方领导人的互访等，接下来则是全面的展示了两国各方面的交流情况。既有双方领导的互访以及双边协定签订，又有经济贸易区域合作及合资企业发展；既有医学交流的场景，又有艺术访问演出；既有在美中国武术节的合影，又有在华旅游胜地游览的美国游客的留念。图片内容可谓包罗万象。
