OCA-Georgia Lunar New Year Banquet
Scholarship Recipient
OCA-Georgia Scholarship program is to recognize Asian-American high school seniors in the State of Georgia for academic, community & cultural service, athletic excellence, and achievements. Qualifications are all full-time graduating high school seniors in good academic standing (minimum GPA 2.75 on 4-point scale, or 3.44 on 5-point scale), of any ethnic or cultural background, who plans to attend higher education. All applicants must be a United States citizen or a permanent resident of the US.
SATHVIK R. NAMBURAR is OCA-Georgia’s 2013 Scholarship winner. Sathvik is a valedictorian with overall GPA of 4.53 and 36 composite in ACT from Woodward Academy. Brief introduction of Sathvik Namburar: He is in the orchestra and had been playing the violin since he was in the 1st grade. He also plays the string machine and is the section leader. He also participates in the JV Tennis. Sathvik was a recipient of Coach’s Award for Leadership Excellence when he was in 10th grade. He won the Departmental Recognition Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science as well as participates in the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program and National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Most of all, he published a scientific thesis while doing a study at Georgia Tech. As for now, he is undecided for college but he intends to pursue medicine and is debating between Yale University and John Hopkins University.

胡德全表示他之所以一直支持該協會是因為美華協會是在美国主流社会替亞裔爭取和促准社會，政治和经济利益的一个全国性的组织。總部在华盛顿，離白宮和国会都很近，方便該協會游说。全国超过一百个分会，和其它合作的组织。反对种族歧视，反对独尊英语，支持双语考駕照等都是该協会力爭的事项。喬州分会曾经成功地帮一名在职場受歧視而失掉工作的同胞營回工作。
