美國河流之語(River of Words)组织与国会图书馆一起自1995年以来每年举办一场自由国际诗歌和美朮比赛。比赛被设计帮助青年时期探索他们居住地方的自然和文化历史和通过诗歌和艺术表达。比赛是对全世所有孩子开放的，从5-19岁。这个号稱全国最大的青少年环境诗歌和美朮竞赛已經連續舉辦了第15届
