Below are my personal thoughts for some of the comments:

In my daughter's class, the teacher actually asked all the kids openly (with parents at present) if they would like to participate in the dance competition. If they do, they need to work hard both at school and at home. The teacher will tell them when they are ready. Obviously, some people did not get it because they were not personally at present. If you would like your kids to go for the competition, you should discuss that with your kids first, then the teacher. There is no way for every kid to participate in the competition. Otherwise, compeition becomes a dance party. To be fair, the ratio of CXDS kids participating in competitions this year is higher than any other Chinese dance schools in Atlanta (correct me if I am wrong).

In addition, in parents' eyes, their kids are the most beautiful and precious angels. It is imappropriate to say ugly words. Though my daughter did not go for the competition, we feel cheerful when learned their outstanding performance. They all looked confident and elegant on stage. Because of this, my daughter feels encouraged and starts to work more dilegently every since.

Lastly, I disagree somewhat with the phrase, "没有教不会的学生,只有不会教的老师。" If this is true, everyone becomes genious. There should be no sayings such as "朽木不可雕也".
